Huh??

Excerpts from a Brad Pitt interview by GQ (all from the same interview, same time, same month, etc.):

"The idea that marriage has to be for all time -- that I don't understand."

Followed by:

"...acting, a career he would readily toss because 'truthfully, I'm interested in other things. Like family.'"

Right... because family is compiled by me, kids, some other grown-up but not for all time...  So maybe just me and some kids... or just one...  maybe a disposable wife?  Wait, are kids for all time too??  Shit!  I didn't know that!!!!

  1. Was this excert before or after the break-up?

In an interview when he was married to Jen he made a comment. I don't have the exact words; but it came down to the fact that he thought people should be together as long as they were meant to be together.

It is actually; in my opinion, a healthy way to look at things. People grow, people change. And just because you love and want to be with someone; it  *is* just for that time when you say those words. Unfortunately, things happen in relationships and sometimes we change our minds. That is why you are no longer with Bryant and why I am no longer with Craig.

Everyone is living longer these days. So forever; is longer than we once knew it.

  2. He does not strike me as being the brightest thing on the planet, what an incredibly stupid thing to say. Did he not even listen to words that came out of his own mouth when he said the vows....

    Very strange.

  3. Well...  When I married the first time I meant it forever, I really did, that was assuming Bryant would not have turned into a drug-addict.

What's really annoying to me, though, is that Brad Pitt followed his first comment with the fact that he is very interested in having a family...  A family??  Isn't one statement nulling the other...  unless the term for "family" has changed in the last few years as well, I was sure it included parents and children!

Or should he just use egg donors and/or a surrogate??

Or maybe he meant "family" as in "I got all my sisters with me!!!" and is going to shock us all by planning his own yearly parade down Santa Monica Avenue...

  4. Ooh, ooh, ooh...  *And*:

People might be living longer, but I think being married 50 years is still 50 years no different than before.  We are nowadays getting married older, too!  So it should be fairly even, to say the least...
